Greetings from the 42^nd President of Agricultural Chemical Society of Taiwan

I am Kuan-Chen Cheng, and I am honored to serve as the President of the Agricultural Chemical Society of Taiwan (ACST). I would like to take this opportunity to extend my warmest greetings to all our members, colleagues, and partners across academia and industry.

 

Agricultural Chemistry in Taiwan encompasses a broad, interdisciplinary, and vibrant research landscape covering microbiology, food science, biological chemistry, human nutrition, soil science, and environmental and plant nutrition. Built around the core keywords of "Life, Food, and Environment," our research outcomes serve as vital tools to address critical societal and global challenges, including climate change, food security, precision health, and environmental sustainability. Long before concepts such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) gained global focus, pioneers in agricultural chemistry collaborated closely across sectors to foster academic research and drive technological innovation - building a rich legacy that spans more than half a century.

 

Founded in 1963 by a group of visionary scholars and passionate pioneers, ACST is Taiwan's oldest and most historically grounded non-profit academic organization dedicated to agricultural biotechnology and agrochemistry. Over the decades, the Society has continuously served as an indispensable bridge connecting academia, government, and industry. Through publishing peer-reviewed academic journals, hosting professional symposia, organizing academic awards, and actively engaging in international exchange, ACST has consistently empowered Taiwan's agro-biotech sector with innovative energy

 

As our Society continues to build upon its rich legacy and step forward into a new chapter, my primary goal as President is to maximize the social impact and practical contributions of agricultural chemistry research. We aim to provide an inclusive platform where our members can explore and reaffirm the unique innovation, value, and multidisciplinary strength of our discipline.

 

ACST is a shared garden that flourishes through the collective dedication of our community. I deeply appreciate the support and active participation of all our members and look forward to working hand-in-hand with you to build a resilient, healthy, and sustainable future.
